2016 Barastoc Report

barastocA total of 34 competitors registered for the CARABI Barastoc Ring in 2016 with Purebred numbers being our Achilles heel again. This could be due to the fact that Arabian shows were held either side of the Barastoc Breed rings i.e. the Arabian Summer Show @ Werribee (A Class) in late January and the Arabian Classic (AA Class) at the end of February also at Werribee – entry fees for both these shows are high in addition to outlaying the WPNEC facility and stabling fees may have impacted upon the attendance of our Barastoc Ring.
We can only hope that in 2017 we have more of our own members horses ready to hit the grass rings to bolster purebred and derivative numbers and continue to keep a harmonious relationship with EV and Barastoc organizing committees to ensure the survival of the Arabian ring.
